The Bright City of Vietnam.

Xin chao!(Hello) Warm greetings from me and Vietnam. For once in my lifetime, I did not regret of going for summer exchange and taking part of the ‘Hope For Children’ project in Vietnam. Upon arrival Vietnam, my first impression was the busy traffic and the huge number of motorbikes there. I was so worried at first but I was so fortunate to have an awesome buddy, interns from other countries and the local committees who always guided me and made my days in Vietnam immensely wonderful. The journey continued with excitement as I started my internship with the first event held. I enjoyed the moments when we were practicing the AIESEC dances, Global Fair presentations, dramas and songs that had to be performed during the event.

Besides organizing the event, I had to teach several schools in a week. I found this the most interesting part of my internship, as I was able to meet people from different ages and backgrounds. Most of my students were kids and university students. I was so astonished by the English standard that the Vietnamese kids had. They were pretty good in it and they always tried their best to answer my questions. Their enthusiasm in learning English had made me falling in love in teaching them.  The university students were also very keen and sweet. We made good friends very quickly. I was very gratified to see most of them did have the courage to have a conversation with me even outside the classes, and some of them had demonstrated eagerness to learn about my culture. It was a privilege to be able to meet them, know them and listen to their life stories. Each of them had different life stories, which really touched the fathomless cave within me. I really enjoyed teaching them and sharing my life experience with them. Every single moment I spent in Vietnam embarked a different stepping-stone in my life journey. I am so proud that I finally stepped out of my comfort zone and grew up from it.

I met a lot of awesome people and friends and built a lot of good memories there and we still keep in touch after the project. Now, I have couple new home addresses around the world that are always ready for my visit. I am so glad that I made a decision to join AIESEC GAP. Thank you AIESEC, for giving me the opportunity to have a life changing experience. Exchange with AIESEC!
